About VM Labs

We started because bad automation was costing teams more than no automation.

Flaky tests. Unmaintainable scripts. Frameworks nobody understood. We'd seen it too many times — and we knew exactly how to fix it.

The origin

VM Labs was founded by QA engineers who spent years inside product teams watching the same pattern repeat: automation gets added in a hurry, nobody owns the architecture, and within 18 months the suite is more liability than asset.

We started VM Labs to do it differently. Every engagement begins with architecture — not scripting. We design frameworks that are maintainable by the team that inherits them, documented well enough to onboard a new engineer in days, and stable enough to trust in a CI pipeline.

The AI layer came later, when we saw how much engineer time was being consumed by locator maintenance. We built our self-healing approach to be constrained and auditable — AI does the detection and recovery, a human reviews every change. No black boxes.

What we believe

01

Architecture before automation

A test suite without a framework is just a collection of scripts. We design the structure first — separation of concerns, modularity, naming conventions — so the automation can scale with the product.

02

AI that earns its place

We don't add AI because it's fashionable. We integrate it where it solves a real problem — locator maintenance, pattern detection, test generation — and we constrain it to your standards. Every AI decision is reviewable.

03

Your team owns the output

We build frameworks your engineers can maintain without us. Full documentation, handover sessions, and code that follows conventions your team already knows. Dependency on VM Labs is not the goal.

04

Honest scoping

We tell you what's achievable in your timeline and budget. If your suite needs 12 weeks, we say 12 weeks. We'd rather lose a deal than overpromise and underdeliver.

What we bring

  • 01Test framework architecture
  • 02AI & LLM integration in QA
  • 03Web, mobile & desktop automation
  • 04API & database testing
  • 05Legacy suite migration
  • 06CI/CD pipeline design
  • 07Azure DevOps & GitHub Actions
  • 08QA process consulting

How we work

We work as an embedded partner, not a vendor. Small engagements, direct communication, no account managers between you and the engineers doing the work. Every project is led by a senior QA architect who has built frameworks at scale — not delegated to a junior team after the sale.

"We take on a limited number of engagements at a time — so every client gets a senior engineer, not a handoff to a junior team."
